Pray for The
Harvest
Matthew
9:37-38
“… pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into
His harvest.”
The verses right before this, talk about the compassion Jesus
has for the multitudes. And the longing he has for them
to be loved and shepherded. Jesus uses this analogy to highlight the fact
that many persons need to be cared for and brought to God.
As I think about the reality that there are about 8 billion
people in the world right now. I don’t even know how to imagine that number. But
the fact here is that there are many people in the world whom God is longing
for to be loved and shepherded with the Gospel Truth. Yes! persons who need to
be cared for and brought to God. The problem is not that the harvest is not
ready, but the problem is the laborers are few. Beloved, it is now our time to request
God, the Lord of the harvest, that He will raise and send out workers to make
sure that no part of the harvest is lost.
There is an urgency to Jesus's request.

Matthew 9:35-38
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in
their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He
was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like
sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is
plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Prayer Points for The Harvest
1.
Fill us with compassion when we see the lost around us and make us
know that they need help.
2. Break our hearts for what
breaks Yours that we may see and approach the things that concern the harvest of
the Souls of men as you intend for your glory.
3. Strengthen us to keep upholding
the faith and shining the light of the Gospel even when life gets tough and our
faith is being dared by men.
4. Guide and lead us to live as
Christ’s ambassadors, with our loved ones, family members, and neighbors; making
his appeal through us for men to be reconciled to God.
5.
Give us a desperate heart to live for Jesus before all men.
I am indeed bless and happy... May God continue to help us to know him more and more.
